Launch of the CAMAC project

at the World Humpback Whale Congress

On Thursday 9 March 2023, in Santo Domingo, the Agoa Sanctuary and the SPAW RAC confirmed the start of the project with a day dedicated to CAMAC during the Humpback Whale World Congress.

The official launch of the project took place during a major event, the Humpback Whale World Congress. This was the first time the event was held in the Caribbean and brought together 140 scientists and regional stakeholders.

In addition to the detailed presentation of the project, the 32 participants in the workshop that followed, proposed by the CAMAC team, were invited to become immediately involved by exchanging ideas around thematic round tables. They were also able to discover the actions carried out in the West Indies, particularly thanks to European cooperation.

This day was thus marked by the strong investment of the future partners of a project resolutely turned towards cooperation and the sharing of expertise.

Find the report of the CAMAC launch day, including the content of the round table discussions, in the documentation below (in french and in english).
