3D models of marine mammals
Three-dimensional models have been produced in the framework of the CARI'MAM project. Ten marine mammals of the Greater Caribbean Region are available.
How to handle the models?
The Sketchfab website allows you to easily handle the models without downloading them. On your screen you can then rotate the animal to observe it from every angle and zoom in. The site is compatible with your computer screen, your mobile, your tablet, and even with video-projection.
Sketchfab also allows you to view the models with virtual reality glasses for greater immersion.
How to print out the models?
The models have been designed for 3D printing. After downloading, you can print them on any 3D printer. You can then choose the material and the colours. And why not a monochrome print that you can then paint?
For successful printing, ask the companies for advice. They will advise you on the material according to how you will use the models, and in particular whether they are intended to be handled, to avoid breaking the fins, for example.
